Compromise

In front of the American Legion in Virginia, President Bush spoke about his disappointment with the Democrats for not supporting his Iraq-Afghanistan supplemental-financing bill. This has been a reoccurring theme in his speeches.

I think about this magazine cover when I hear about these appeals.

“The bottom line is this,” Mr. Bush said. “Congress’s failure to fund our troops will mean that some of our military families could wait longer for their loved ones to return from the front lines. Others could see their loved ones headed back to war sooner than anticipated. This is unacceptable.”

I think about how great it is to be in a country where I can have an opinion and voice it. This needs to be resolved and I can voice my opinion and do so often through my blog. I have beeen over there, since that was OIF 1, chances are good that I will be going back. Tours are going 15 months now and the military is stretched as thin as it has ever been. There needs to be more focus with a strategy which the majority can support.

COMPROMISE. I have friends over there, my fellow soldiers. Lets not play political games with the lives, safety and extended tours of these heros who are risking their lives daily.
